Sheila & Lance | 8 Kinds of Smiles

Sheila & Lance :: Wedding Highlights

Sheila & Lance are two of a kind. Both extremely hard working and looked up to by their family and friends, it’s no wonder that they ended up together. We only got to hang out with them for a day, but it’s easy to see how wonderful they both are as individuals and as a couple.

Thu & Justin | 8 Kinds of Smiles

Thu & Justin :: Wedding Highlights

The one thing that stood out above all else about Thu & Justin is how much they laugh with one another when together. Whether it’s due to to their awkwardly adorable selves or because they just always have a blast together, it’s clear that these two are truly meant for each other.

Johnalyn & PJ | 8 Kinds of Smiles

Johnalyn & PJ :: Wedding Highlights

Relationships like Johnalyns and PJs are truly rare. To have been together for so long and been through so much together including great distances that meant they were apart for a time means that they know full well they want to be with each other. Their journey lead them to this day, and I’m sure they wouldn’t have changed a thing about it.

Ivy & Rich | 8 Kinds of Smiles

Ivy & Rich :: Wedding Highlights

Ivy & Rich’s wedding was definitely the joining of two families. From the way in which the women in Rich’s family wore traditional Vietnamese dresses during the earlier tea ceremony to the way in which Ivy’s family got down the dance floor jamming out to the awesome American band they had for nighttime, it truly was a perfect celebration of both sides.

Lily & Hoai | 8 Kinds of Smiles

Lily & Hoai :: Wedding Highlights

Lily & Hoai are our officially last wedding of the summer, and they were a great way to wrap the summer for us. What we really enjoyed from their wedding was how playful they are with one another. We noticed this especially during the open dancing. They just had a blast with one another, and you could really tell that they were in their own world… dancing like nobody was watching.

Kim & John | 8 Kinds of Smiles

Kim & John :: Wedding Highlights

Major props to Kim & John–they managed to close on a house all in the middle of wedding planning. And not only that, they finished enough work on it in time to use the wonderfully lit space for morning prep shots and first look. We love shooting in spaces with great light and minimal clutter, and this was exactly that.

Location aside, it was a pleasure to work with Kim & John. They were both great to work with, and we had a blast working alongside other friendors. Congrats again, you two!

Theresa & David | 8 Kinds of Smiles

Theresa & David :: Wedding Highlights

Theresa & David came all the way from Florida to have their June wedding in Southern California. As such, we didn’t get to meet them until the day of the wedding. In our short time with them though, it was clear what sweet and amazing people they are through their interactions with one another and the way in which their closest friends and family spoke about them. We’re so happy for Theresa & David and wish them all the best on their new journey together.

Annie & Lu | 8 Kinds of Smiles

Annie & Lu :: Wedding Highlights

There was a point when we were shooting sunset portraits with Annie & Lu where he just kept telling her how beautiful she looked. We didn’t tell him to do that for a shot, it wasn’t a first look, and a large chunk of the day had already passed. He said it because he was still awestruck by his now wife. Genuine moments like that are one of the things we love most about weddings, and this is easily one of the clear moments from the day that stand out to us. If that isn’t love, I don’t know what is.
